For this project, we created our very own skyscrapers! We used triangles and rectangles. Then, we used polynomials and we calculated that length, height, and width of the shapes. This project was great because it helped me to understand how math is used in many careers. A builder must first know the mathematics before he can construct a building. I found it interesting how math was connected to many jobs. I never knew how much it was used outside of school. I wonder, do constructers have to have a degree in math? I can connect this project to jobs all around the world, because many of them require an education in mathematics and polynomials. This project taught me so much, and i really loved how Mrs. Jacques incorporated a hands on project in a mathematics class!
